Domain-based wiki
A wiki clone extended with ad-hoc services, useful for specific domains of knowledge (e.g., enterprise, university, public administration domains).
Ontology
QoS-aware Ontology-based framework, WikiFactory framework
A framework that produces QoS-enabled domain-based wiki. In order to realize the customization of the wiki services it makes use of domain ontologies. In addition, it provides the wiki with QoS management.
QoS-enabled domain-based wiki
A domain-based wiki which guarantees QoS requirements to be respected.

Service
A module with a set of features; the service is created by using the WikiFactory and corresponds to a functionality the resulting domain-based wiki provides its users with. There are two types of services, basic services and composite services.
Wiki clone
A specific wiki-application, implemented in a specific language. Examples of wiki-clones are: TWiki,
MediaWiki,
PHPWiki, etc.
Wiki Engine
A component of the WikiFactory Application. It has the responsibility of tailoring the Wiki Instance Descriptor to the specific chosen Wiki clone. That is, given a Wiki Service Segmentation it maps the each service with a script of a specific Wiki clone.

To indentify an abstract set of Wiki services in order to map eachservice, basic or composed, into a single operation or script of a specific wiki clone.
